Home in San Luis Obispo, USA--the town that CNN Travel calls "pure California perfection"
We have enjoyed many exchanges all over the world and in the US and Canada. We've been exchanging for over 25 years, both on Intervac and on another platform. We have 5* reviews for all our exchanges. We will treat your home with respect and care, as if it were our own.
Our home is modern and comfortable, with wood floors throughout. It's serene and quiet.. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and baking, if that's something you enjoy.
Upstairs the two bedrooms are self-contained, each has a bathroom with shower. It is perfect for two couples or a couple with one or two young children who can share a bed. We recently switched out our queen bed in the master bedroom for two side-by-side twins..
There is a large deck in the back, where you can enjoy your breakfast or lunch and pick fresh herbs for your dinner. We have a pool and hot tub, shared with other condo residents. It's a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing.

If we are traveling a distance, we prefer 3-4 weeks, but we are also open to shorter stays in California--either in San Francisco or the Culver City area, where our grandkids live. |

About the neighborhood
San Luis Obispo is a small city located right between Los Angeles and San Francisco--you get to either city in less than four hours. Santa Barbara is 90 minutes south and Carmel and Monterey are 3 hours north. The city's main employers are the University ( California Polytechnic State University), the State and local governments, and many small entrepreneurial businesses.
We are close to the coast, and mountains are nearby, too. The city has over 65 miles of hiking trails and if you head out to other parts of the county, you will find beautiful trails for all levels of hikers. We have bikes and an electric bike available for your use.

Het huis waar we mee geruild hebben was goed weergegeven op de Intervac pagina. Het klopte. In het echt was het zelfs mooier dan op de foto's zichtbaar. De instructies die ze voor ons hadden klaarliggen waren heel exact en alles was heel goed met elkaar geregeld/afgestemd. We hadden voor de ruil en tijdens de ruil regelmatig contact om ervaringen uit te wisselen of praktische vragen te stellen. De mensen waar we mee ruilden zijn rustig en netjes. Ze hebben het huis schoon achtergelaten en er is niks kapot gegaan.

Active retired couple- open for adventure
Dan is a retired licensed clinical social worker who had a private practice, specializing mostly in couples counseling, for over 20 years. Pat is retired from Cal Poly State University and is currently active in local politics and the arts.
We have two daughters, one of whom retired from the US Coast Guard and now lives in Porto,Portugal ; and one who lives in Pittsburgh, PA. We love to visit them and would welcome exchanges in those areas.
We are open for requests from anywhere, but unless you are in the northern part of the world, we don't travel in the summer--June-August.
