Your gateway to Europe: Sunny and spacious apartment in the heart of Salzburg, Austria

We live in the heart of the Mozart city Salzburg, in the so-called Andräviertel, which is very popular because of its central location, the many beautiful old buildings and the numerous restaurants and cafes. From here you can reach all the sights of the city on foot (https://www.salzburg.info/en/sights/top10). Directly opposite the apartment there is a hairdresser and a bakery, a supermarket is nearby, as well as the "Schranne" - the largest weekly market in Austria, which takes place every Thursday morning. The beautiful Mirabell Garden, world-famous for the movie "The Sound of Music", is only a 5-minute walk away, and all of the city's central bus lines also run here. It is a ten minute walk to Salzburg's main train station. This makes it the ideal starting point for trips throughout Europe. Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia and Hungary can be reached by train in a few hours (Munich: 2 hours, Vienna: 2.5 hours, LJubljana: 5 hours, Venice: 5 hours). And also to the surrounding mountains it is easy to travel by bus and train.

Our apartment is located on the 3rd floor of an apartment building from the 1920s, rebuilt in the 1960s. It is composed of two merged apartments on a total area of 150 square meters. There are two children's rooms, a master bedroom, a guest room, a living room with an open kitchen and two bathrooms, also a small storage room and a large study (the latter is not part of the home exchange). The street is rather quiet, with few cars passing through. The apartment is very sunny and offers plenty of space for a family. From the small balcony at the living room you can see all the way to the foothills of the Alp mountains. We own six bicycles (two for children, four for adults) which can be used during the stay for exploring the city. You can also use our transferable climate ticket during your stay, which entitles you (one person) to free travel on public transport throughout the Salzburg region. At the weekend, a second person can be taken along free of charge.

Lifestyle

We are an urban, active family that loves outdoor activities (hiking and skiing as well as trips to the lakes in the Salzburg area, but also to the museum and other cultural events, etc.) and also likes to chill at home, read, watch TV or go to the movies. We love cooking with friends, we all play an instrument (violin, cello, piano, guitar) and we are interested in what's going on in the world.
