We are a small, young family living in a flat close to Basel (15 minutes by bike to the centre). Basel is a city on the bend of the Rhine that looks back on a long history, but also has a lot to offer for contemporary enthusiasts. There are not only well-known museums to visit, but also hidden corners that are worth discovering. In summer, we particularly recommend swimming in the fountains or in the Rhine. But the surrounding area also has a lot to offer, such as the Langen Erle recreation area, the surrounding hills with numerous walking trails, the weekly markets in Lörrach (Germany) and St. Louis (France) or our beautiful home. =) Basel is also a good starting point for excursions to central Switzerland.

Our flat is located on a property with around 15 appartements/houses. We live on the top floor in a building with two other parties. Our flat has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a large living/dining room, a kitchen and a tiny office. There are four beds, but we have two more mattresses.
In the summer months we spend a lot of time outside on the forecourt, where the children can ride bikes, scooters, bobby cars, unicycles etc., play table tennis, basketball and football, draw with chalk and run around. There is also a place to sit and eat outside. Next door there is a farm, an association that offers animal-assisted therapy, a large private park that you can use, great neighbouring families and a flower field where you can pick the flowers yourself.

The nearest supermarket is approx. 650m away, but there are many more in the vicinity. The tram and bus are max. 6000m away and the S-Bahn and train station are within easy reach. We usually do everything by bike. We have 3 bikes for adults (including an e-bike with trailer for 2 children and 1 bike with child seat).
