Cosy Apartment in Münster, Germany – Garden, Garage & Retro Charm
33 m² | Ground floor | Fully furnished | Simultaneous exchange for around 6 months
Welcome to Münster, a lively, green university city in western Germany, famous for its bicycles, historic old town and relaxed atmosphere! I offer my cosy 33 m² ground-floor apartment in the southern part of the city, near the Geist, Aaseestadt and Düesberg neighbourhoods.
THE APARTMENT
The apartment is in a building with young residents living in separate studio apartments. It is compact but comfortable, with a personal touch and everything needed for everyday life.
The kitchen/dining area has a gas hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave and espresso machine. The bathroom includes a washing machine.
The combined living and sleeping room has a space-saving loft bed, PC and classic plasma TV. Film and music lovers will enjoy the DVD and VHS players, a large VHS collection, record player and CD player. There is even a Commodore 64 computer – a little paradise for fans of retro technology!
The building also has a garden and a bicycle workshop in the basement, plus a garage.
EXPLORE MÜNSTER
Münster combines medieval history with a youthful university atmosphere. Wander beneath the arcades of Prinzipalmarkt, visit St Paul’s Cathedral and its astronomical clock, and see the historic Town Hall associated with the Peace of Westphalia in 1648.
Relax beside Lake Aasee, stroll around Münster Castle and the Botanical Garden, or cycle along the leafy Promenade encircling the old town. Other highlights include the Allwetterzoo, the LWL Museum of Art and Culture, the lively waterfront restaurants at the harbour and the traditional pubs of the Kuhviertel. The farmers’ market on Domplatz every Wednesday and Saturday is a local favourite.
NATURE & DAY TRIPS
The surrounding Münsterland region is full of picturesque countryside, moated castles and cycle paths. Follow part of the 100 Castles Route, visit Nordkirchen Palace or Burg Hülshoff, discover the historic town of Telgte, or watch birds at the Rieselfelder nature reserve. The Dortmund-Ems Canal is another lovely place for walks and bike rides.
Münster is also a convenient base for exploring western Germany: Osnabrück, Dortmund, Bielefeld, Essen, Düsseldorf and Cologne are all possibilities. The Netherlands is close, too – consider Enschede, Winterswijk or Deventer for a day trip, or Amsterdam for a weekend.
EXCHANGE WISHES
I’m looking for a simultaneous home exchange of approximately six months, anywhere in Europe. My dates and destinations are flexible. I’d love to experience everyday life in another country, rather than just visit as a tourist.
My apartment would suit a solo traveller or couple looking for a fully equipped home in a friendly city – whether for work, study or a longer stay. I look forward to hearing from you!
