Welcome @ charming Herentals
Hi, I'm Sonia.
I'm looking for a X-mas exchange.
I'm looking for weekend exchanges and exchanges for 1 to 4 weeks.
I'm open for any proposal.
Surprise me!
I included Intervac in my style of life in 2006 and since then I have had more than 30 succesfull exchanges. I appreciate the hospitality of people from different countries and I'm already looking forward to welcome the next family.
Herentals has a very accessible railwaystation!!!
Easy from/to Brussels and Antwerp (and of course other city's or charming villages).
I live in a very bright and spacious loft on the 3th floor. There is a lift.
There is a big rooftop terrace with beautiful views over the neighbourhood.
There is a Masterbedroom with double bed.
In the living area are 2 brand new sofa beds. Very good quality beds 140 x 200, both for 2 People. Very easy system.
So sleeping place for 6 in Total !
I can you alsof offer a closed parking space (garage).
Herentals is a very small charming town in the Flemish part of Belgium.
My home is situated in the historical city centre, at 5 min walk to the train- and busstation
Al kind of shops and supermarkets are just around the corner.
It is alsof a very quite area and the beautiful Beguinage and Nethevalley are just across the street.
But I also like the local markets on Friday and Sunday.
I love our Nethe valey, Kempisch Canal and the sanddunes.
So, an ideal combination for an easy and relax stay!
I have 1 bike and 1 e-bike (possible to use more bikes from friends). A very nice area to discover the area by bike.
There is so much to do, for every age, in Herentals and the surrounding areas. You will not be bored!
The famous familypark 'Bobbejaanland' is just 8 km from here.
You can use free and unlimited internet-acces.
Belgium is a very little country with distinct cultures and long fascinating histories. But Belgium charms are also found in many less-spectacular corners. Belgium is more than drinking beer, eating 'stoemp', waffles, chips and chocolates!
Belgium is a country of two distinct halves. Dutch speaking Flanders has a flat landscape but is interspersed with fabulous historic cities. They lies close together and are conveniently interconnect by regular trains, even from Herentals. Antwerp is a portcity whose historical credentials are balanced by its vibrant nightlife, café-culture and cutting-edge designer fashions. Sweet little Lier, known for his béguinage, listed by Unesco. Brughes: one of Europe's most romantic getaways. Ghent is known to be one of the most authentic city's. I can also recommend you Mechelen and Leuven. In French speaking Wallonia most attractions are contrastingly rural: caves, castles, bucolic valleys and outdoor activities. Fascinating Liège, Namur with his mighty fortress and pitoresque old town centre, Bouillon with his 'chateau', Dinant, beautifull nature in Rochehout et La Roche-en-Ardennes. The Eastern cantons is best known for the Hautes Fagnes area of moorlands (largest nationally protected naturereserve) that lies between pleasant towns Eupen and Malmédy. Here you also find the Spa-Francorchamps Belgium Grand Prix Formula 1 circuit.. And than you have Brussels of course. The Grand Place is one of world's most beautifull squares. Don't mis the unique 1985 Atomium.
Belgium is the capital of Europe. Very good connections by highway's, high-speed trains or low-cost flights to other European cities as Amsterdam , Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid, Barcelona, Venice,....

Our Neighbourhood

I live in regio 'Antwerpse Kempen', situated in Flanders.
The region is known for his beautifull Nete- valley. Over 90% of Belgium's dragonfly species live here. You have also 'de Kempense duinenrug (sanddunes with forest) . 'Het Olens broek' is a beautifull nature-reserve. And there are 2 dreaming canals: Kempisch canal and Albertcanal. There're 4 lakes where you can find a lot of waterrecreation. There're also a lot of other possibilities for recreation all kind...walking, biking, mountainbiking, swimming, kanoing, skating, petanque, kajak, surf, horse-riding, golf...or visit familypark Bobbejaanland.
Herentals is an ideal place for visiting our country with a lot of charming little villages and beautifull city's. Herentals has a trainstation at 5' walk from here. This station has very frequent services and takes you to Antwerp or Brussels in no time. From there you can connect to many areas of the country.
