Stylish Golf Course Home in the Wonderful Pacific Northwest!
My home is a two-bedroom house with an open floor plan that lets in the outdoors but also offers indoor privacy. It is all on one level with just one step up to the porch. Set in McCormick Woods, a natural area, the home has easy walking access to forested trails and just 15 minutes to Port Orchard Waterfront.
The Master Bedroom overlooks the rear patio and golf course it has a Queen size bed, en suite bath with large soaking tub and walk-in closet.
The Second bedroom overlooks a quiet cul-de-sac and forest. It is furnished with a comfortable double bed, double dresser and large close and TV. There is a second bath with shower adjacent to the second bedroom.
There is a very large "great room" (Living/Dining) with a gas fireplace and a large Smart TV with multiple streaming options, including Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. Also overlooking the cul-de-sac is an open room set up as an office.
There is a modern kitchen with gas stove, microwave, and all the usual counter appliances. There is seating at the counter as well as at the kitchen table. There is also outdoor dining and Barbecue on the patio.
There is excellent WiFi throughout the house, garden and patio.
I am in Port Orchard in the Pacific Northwest in Washington State. My home is easy driving distance from Tacoma, and Seattle is accessible via nearby Ferry system. We are on the Kitsap Peninsula; Puget Sound is very nearby. Great jumping off point for visiting any of the islands in the area. Visit Port Townsend, Bremerton, Gig Harbor, Bainbridge or Vashon Island. Also nearby is the Olympic Peninsula. This area is much beloved by nature enthusiasts. This is the land of the Orca whale! The possibilities are endless!
The neighborhood is a beautiful development in a semi-rural location with tennis courts, playgrounds, forested trails (easy) and of course the golf course and Club House. We are blessed with a lot of wildlife including deer, rabbits, raccoons, possums, foxes and skunks. (Many of these are nocturnal, so you might hear or, occasionally, smell some of them more than seeing them.) (And I have binoculars, of course.)
The house is about 25 minutes by car from the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, with many ferry options for islands and Seattle. The Kitsap Peninsula is rich in Native American history and tradition with many small museums, etc. Also, for Naval Enthusiasts, there is a big base including for submarines (there is also a sub museum!)
I do have home exchange experience in The Netherlands, the UK and the US, all wonderful on both sides!

McCormick Woods is a planned community on the forested ridge above Port Orchard, WA. It has lots of ponds and, of course, the Golf Course. The many amenities include the Club House, nice playgrounds, tennis courts and hiking trails.
We are about 10 minutes by car to Hwy 16 which is the main artery on the Peninsula. East from there, it is about 20 minutes to charming Gig Harbor, or 30 minutes to Tacoma. The Westbound direction takes you to Bremerton and roads for other points including the Norwegian town of Poulsbo, the Hood Canal, Port Townsend, Port Angeles and the Olympic Peninsula. This area is a nature lover's dream with access to the islands of the Puget Sound as well as Seattle by Ferry. There are many ferry routes.
Shopping is nearby, with an many markets about 10 minutes away by car, During the summer there are some wonderful "farm markets" that feature produce, plants, specialty products and some carry locally sourced fish, meat and poultry.

DE7513We had a wonderful vacation at Autumn. She let us use her car and we were able to explore the beautiful area with it. We had during the vacation often contact with her via whatsapp , if someone needed help. Autumn put us in contact with her neighbors, so we got valuable information for nice day trips. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Autumn is a very nice host and we would arrange a home exchange with her again anytime.
