Quiet but central house in this quaint town in whisky country
The house is a traditional building, over 300 years old. It's cosy and characterful, with a sunny little garden.
Forres is a busy, historic little town with lots going on. It's close to lovely beaches and beautiful countryside. It's a great centre for walking. We won the competition for the most beautiful High Street in Scotland in 2017.

About the neighborhood
We are in a little quiet corner of the town centre, within 5 minutes for shops, restaurants and the local museum..
Buses go by about 50m away. The train station is about a 20 minute walk away.
The area has a walking festival at midsummer and you can join the long distance walking route of the Dava Way and the Moray way at the bottom of our road. There is also the Speyside whisky festival. Forres has a distillery you can visit. We are on the route of the British national cycle route 1. We host an annual Highland games.
The town is built around a hill where Macbeth had one of his fortresses and has a remarkable carved Pictish stone. There are castles to visit.

Kath had left us lots of information and maps about the area and given us some tips on where to go. The listing is very accurate in its description, in a quiet backwater but very close to the town centre. The house was very clean and tidy and Kath had left us milk and we were told to use any food stuffs in the kitchen.
Kathleen was wonderful and we realy enjoyed the house and Forres!

We haven't met Kath but spoken to her at length on the phone, she was very friendly and helpful. Her home is in a quiet backwater just off the high street, which is very convenient for the shops. The house is quirky in layout, but very confortable and very well kept. Great facilities and a lovely little sunny and secluded garden.
