We are going to a family party in Provence, France on 14 July 2026. We would like to exchange with a family who lives within 3 hours drive of Orange, Provence. |
|
A traditional Scottish home close to the sea, golf courses, castles and whisky trail.
We live in a residential area close to the city centre, the beach, parks, supermarkets and transport links. Our home is over 100 years old but with all modern conveniences. It has a back garden with flowers and vegetables that is secure for children playing or for pets.
There are three bedrooms, two double and one single. We also use a bed in the loft, that is floored and set up as an extra bedroom.
There are two sitting rooms, one adjacent to the kitchen and both have TVs with access to streaming platforms.
There is one bathroom with shower and one separate toilet with sink.
Our neighbours are very friendly and helpful.
We have an open fire and a wood burning stove that you are welcome to use if the weather turns chilly.
You are welcome to use our car.

Nuestro vecindario
Aeropuerto más cercano: Aberdeen - 5 miles
Aberdeen is Scotland's third city and is on the North East Coast that has drier and sunnier weather than other parts of the country. In high summer, it is light till 10pm.
Aberdeen is known for its lovely parks, beach, golf courses, proximity to the countryside and its sparkling granite buildings.
Five minutes from our house you can get the bus to the city centre that has some nice architecture, cinemas, art gallery and museums, cafes and restaurants.
The beach is a half hour walk or ten minute car journey. There you will find cinema, bowling, skating, a carnival, cafes and of course miles of sandy beach. The water is cold but that does not put off cold water swimmers!
Old Aberdeen with its historic architecture, botanic garden, award-winning Seaton Park and quaint cobbled streets is 20 minutes walk away.
For those looking for a longer glen walk or hill walking, the Cairngorm and Grampian hills can be reached in approximately 2 hours. There you will find some of the best scenery Scotland has to offer as well as nature, bird watching, deer herds and more. This is in Royal Deeside where the King has a home at Balmoral Castle that is open to the public.
Within 30-60 mins from Aberdeen by car or bus on the coastal roads, you will find castles, cliff top walks, traditional fishing villages (for example Stonehaven, Cullen, Portsoy) and fantastic seafood and farm shops selling their produce.
In the summer, you might enjoy a visit to the Highland Games or a Game Fair in some of the nearby towns where you taste traditional foods, listen to pipe bands and watch highland dancing, tossing the caber and other traditional sports.
Aberdeen is a good base to visit other cities for the day by train or car, including Inverness to the north and Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh to the south. Some of our visitors also go for an overnight trip to the Western Isles (Skye is the most accessible as it has a bridge) or to the Orkney Isles with its many stone age sites.
You are really spoilt for choice in Scotland!

Texto de presentación de su familia
We are a recently retired couple with a black spaniel called Pip. He stays elsewhere when we exchange houses. You are welcome to bring your dogs to our home. We are happy to provide pet care when in your home.
Our two daughters have their own homes elsewhere, one lives in Aberdeen and is happy to help anyone staying in our house.
We are available most dates for exchange. We are very experienced exchangers and have enjoyed many stays in Europe, Canada, the USA and Australia.
We would like an exchange in France in July 2026 for 2-3 weeks. We are going to a family party in Orange, Provence and would like an exchange within 3 hours drive of there.
We are also open to offers at other times of the year from any country.
