Small seaside town with nice waterfront, plenty of bookstores, Ocean Discovery Centre, museum, pubs, shops, aviation museum, and airport.
VANCOUVER ISLAND
Can drive the entire length of Vancouver Island in 8-10 hours
Hike the 7- day West Coast trail; MUST have reservations
Hike the 4-day Juan de Fuca trail without reservations
Drive to Tofino, Long Beach & Uclulet in 5 hours
Drive to Cathedral Grove in 3 hours to see giant old growth Douglas Firs
Visit Cowichan Bay 1 hour north
Cowichan Valley 40 min. north for great local food & wineries
Chemainus 1 hour 15 minutes north: live theatre, painted murals, living history tours

Salt Spring Island (30 minutes by ferry is the largest Gulf Island. .
Vancouver (1 hr 40 mins. ferry then drive into downtown) Attractions include:

David is a partner who responds quickly and was easy to communicate with during the planning stage and during our mutual swaps. Their house is comfortable, has a lovely garden and back patio to enjoy but the mattresses are the best ever as were the linens and pillows. We enjoyed returning home each day to to cook and visit, as we had family members with us. The bus stop and train station are close-by, along with grocery stores and markets. Our house was neat and tidy when we got home, so I can highly recommend David and Sue as experienced exchange partners.

We are two retired professionals but Mark is enjoying a second career as a home handyman working with our son in a Renovation business here in Victoria. We have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren who live close by.
For the Spring of 2023 I hope to arrange a 4 week trip in England, with house and car exchange.
