Wonderful Elsinore, (greater Copenhagen), Denmark
We, Lone (1978) and Troels (1975), Harry (2010) and Lily (2011) love to travel, and welcome all friends in our home.
We live in a charming house from 1928 in Elsinore, north of Copenhagen. The house is situated on a quiet street, with a sloping backyard with direct access to a park. It is a 15 minute walk from the station, and in 40 minutes you will be at Copenhagen Central station. The local beach is less than 3 km away.
We share the house with our cat, Mitze, Harry’s two Budgerigars, Chicken and Nugget, and Lily’s bunny, Mr. Maples.
OUR HOME:
The house has two stories and a full basement. We renovated it in 2019, so it should be up to date. We have three bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. From our balcony we have a view to the sea and Sweden. On the ground floor we have the kitchen and two living rooms. In the basement we have a bathroom, a mud room, and the master bedroom and a working space with work out space as well.
TRANSPORT:
Trains to Copenhagen and the north coast leave every twenty minutes from the station.
The freeway is also about ten minutes from the house by car
WHY HOUSEEXCHANGE?
We have great experiences with this form of travelling, and it enables us to see the world with our children. We have made exchanges to The Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Italy, Austria, Iceland and France.
We joined intervac, because Lone has been exchanging houses with her parents since she was 5 years old, and now we want to give our kids the same great experience.

ELSINORE:
Elsinore offers great sights and wonderfull beaches. Kronborg Castle, a unesco sight, is situated in central Elsinore, next to the maritime museum, the food marked and the beach. The central Elsinore is charming town that dates back to the 16th century, where you can take a stroll and have a coffee. All with a view to Sweden.
There are several beaches, very kids friendly, where you can swim, snorkle or sup board.

COPENHAGEN:
Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen! offers a great Zoo, the National Aquarium, the Tivoli Garden, many museums and castles, boat rides on the canals, swimming in the harbour, beaches, great shopping and a good night live.
The center has a beautiful architecture from 1600s; you can see the king's castle, her lifeguard, museums, shopping - a great place for a walk. The center is surrounded by Nørrebro, Vesterbro, Østerbro and Amager. Vesterbro is a trendy part of town with night clubs and great shopping. Østerbro is a more quiet and posh place, housing the stadion. Amager has the beaches, and Nørrebro is an upcoming neighbourhood, with many different ethnic characteristics, bars and restaurants, and also housing the cemetery where HC Andersen is burried.

Lifestyle
We are a family that loves to travel.
We have chosen to live in Elsinore, a vibrant town with a historical center, but still close to Copenhagen.
We both work full time - therefore we value our days off very much, and love to explore other countries in our holidays.
We also enjoy the zoo, amusement parks and hiking.
We have chosen to live close to the beach, because we enjoy swimming and sup boarding.
