House in Nieuwkoop, Netherlands

Our house, 640 m2, is stylish and cozy situated in an area called the green heart: green because of the nature and countryside, heart because of its central location equally close to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht (app. 40 min.) The natural beauties around consist of a wonderful lake which is partly suitable for swimming and boating and partly a nature reserve. Furthermore the closest beach is app. 35km west.
The house consists of a large living room with view on green fields occupied by geese, swans, donkeys, sheep, cows and horses and a rather curious Emu. Attached to the living area is a well equiped kitchen with professional cooker (we love cooking!). There is also a music studio on the ground floor with our second grand piano and a keyboard. The instruments can be played if treated with proper care. On the back of the house there is a big terrace with a little pier on the water, a wonderful place to sit, eat and drink as you can see on the photographs. In this garden there is also a picknick-table and a small, cozy breakfast area under the tree. By the water you can set up a hammock.
On the second floor is the spacious master bedroom with access to the balcony (south and warm), two children's bedrooms and a spacious double study with computers with available internet access. WiFi also available. The bathroom has just been renovated in 2020 and is modern, easy maintenance, with a comfortable walk-in shower and two sinks.
The attic was our children's paradise and can still be used as such by kids: lots of games, a ping-pong tablet a dart board and some instruments. It is so unpolished that nobody can do much harm. It is also the access to an extra nice guestroom with dubble bed and separate sink.
In front of the house are three private parking spaces. Besides there is a shed for the bicicles (4).
Our village is small and a perfect start for wonderful biking tours. Our house is located central and in a quiet neighbourhood. Shops are within less than 1 km. We would be glad to advice you on touristic attractions such as the unique line of windmills just outside the village and lots more depending on your interests.
We are a caring an uncomplicated family and hope to find similar partners to exchange with. Write us for questions!

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Schiphol Amsterdam - 28 km

Our village is a perfect place to get acquainted with Holland. To start with we live at a beautiful lake where you can swim (foto) and rent all kinds of boats (row, canu, sail, electrical) to enjoy water and nature.
At close distance of half an hour there are plenty other nice lakes as the Reeuwijkse plas (link). All of them can be biked perfectly and if you want to take the bikes there you can use our bike-carrier.
And there is of course the sea with its dunes and large beaches at a 40'ride. You can rent a step and step through the dunes to the sea, take a swim, enjoy the atmosphere or play some volleyball of football.
Within 10' we have the only  4-windmills in a row still working in Holland (link). And of course there is also within half an hour the famoux Keukenhof: beautiful styled gardens with thousands of flowers (tulips among others) specially attractive in May or June.
The most attractive cities as Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Den Haag (interesting musea and Madurodam - Holland in miniature), Leiden, Haarlem, Gouda are all within 40'drive. Basically all interesting places in Holland can be visited in a day's tour and you can choose if you want to enjoy nature, culture, sit in one of the nice restaurants or cafés or get involved with van Gogh, Rembrandt among others.
If you want to go south and take a glimp of Belgium you can even reach Antwerpen and Brugge within 2-3 hours.
Herewith we enclose some interesting websites for your information, but we would be happy advice depending on your interests.
