Comfortable house in Nijmegen, the oldest city of The Netherlands
Have fun in the oldest city of The Netherlands (175.000 inhabtitants); NIJMEGEN.
NIjmege has lots to offer for every visitor; old architecture, musea, lots of restaurants and bars for every pocket, many festivals, parks, Spa-resorts and a beautiful environment with tiny villages, forests and a river. Nijmegen is very bike-friendly and the house is only 2 kilometres from the city-centre. So jump on my 2 bikes and explore the citycentre. Around Nijmegen there are unique forests where you can walk. I love to go there to relax.
If you like to visit Amsterdam (1,5 hour trainride ), Utrecht (45 min), Maastricht (1,5 hour cardrive) or Dusseldorf (Germany), hop on a train (trainstation is only 2 kilometres from my house) and you get there.
This is a perfect spot if you want to see touristic places like Amsterdam but also like to see how locals live in their cities. Or, as one of my American friends likes to say: "The Dutch gave Amsterdam to tourists, and kept the beautiful other cities to themselves!" See for yourself the beautiful cities like Ravestein (18 km away), Grave (15 km away), "Hanze-city" Zutphen (50 km away) or 's-Hertogenbosch (50 km away).
Airport Weeze (Germany) is 40 car-minutes away. Shuttles ride between Nijmegen and Weeze. Airport Dusseldorf is 1,5 hour by car and Amsterdam Schiphol is 1,5 hour (by car or train).
This house is located in a good and quiete area only 2 kilometers from Central Station, 2 kilometers from the city- centre...you can even walk to it. A park, Spa-resort, public swimmingpool and supermarkets are all very closeby, within 2 kilometers. For daily shopping there are some shops just around the corner, 500 metres walk!
This house is divided in 2 appartments. I live in the appartment on the main floor and basement (105 m2). I own this house. It has been carefully renovated over a period of 10 years time with an eye for details for the traditional style as the house has been build in 1931. The house is a tranquil and peaceful place that fits in my lifestyle. It is very spacious for 2-3 persons. A third person can sleep on the couch in the living-room or on a air-matrass. As I enjoy cooking there is a large very well equipped kitchen (with fry-top and 2 ovens).
The bathroom has a tub and a shower. The bedroom is located in the basement; very cool in summer and warm in winter.
Also available an apartment in Jerez de la Frontera; see pictures. Located in favorite area, with restaurants, shops at walking distance.

About Our Family
I am a single woman, Stephanie (53 years old) who has travelled a lot in the past. I love to see "new things" and meet different people and lifestyles. My motto is: "learn from other cultures which brings out beauty in your own life". I usually travel with a friend during home-exchange holidays.
I work as a Chinese herbalist, incorporating China's huge wisdom about healthy lifestyle as much as I can in my personal life.
For me, exchanging homes for holidays is a perfect way to blend in another culture and enjoy a good life at the same time!
Lifestyle
I love to cook, trying new recipes or enjoy old favourite ones and am always very interested in local foodstyles. I do not smoke and live a healthy lifestyle. Daily yoga and meditation is part of my lifestyle. I like to go to musicfestivals/concerts to learn about different musicstyles. I like hiking in forrests or hills (not extreme high mountains or altitudes), swimming in natural water during warm days, visiting (small) cities around the area.
I like to see different places from "within"; being a member of the society rather than being a tourist. I am open for all types of exchanges from 5 up to 14-16 days during the year. I am flexible, but need to know in time when and how we can exchange.
I use to travel with a friend and for short trips I also travel alone. Of course all information you need to know about my travelmate is available.
So...if you look for a reliable, friendly and quiete person to exchange with and be sure your house is kept tidy: think about an exchange with me!
If your place is not on my wish-list, please suprise me and do write!
