Our Neighbourhood
Our home is centrally located in Vermont, 15 minutes into the beautiful Green Mountains, and 20 minutes to Lake Champlain. Middlebury is a classic New England college town, with a small but vibrant downtown area, and many local events offered both by the town, and surrounding areas and by the Middlebury College.
Vermont is full of opportunities for outdoor living and good food. There are many hiking trails locally and throughout the state, including a segment of the Appalachian Trail, and we are located 20 minutes from a small ski slope, and an hour's drive from famous New England skiing of Killington and Mad River Glen, 3 hours from the Laurentian Mountains in Quebec. Vermont prides itself on having excellent food, locally grown and prepared, including award winning cheeses, and the growing number of restaurants showcase these foods. Recently, Vermont has enjoyed a surge in microbreweries, cider producers (both soft and hard), and small wineries that are receiving international critical acclaim.
There is easy access to the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York, and we are 2 1/2 hours to Montreal, 3 1/2 hours to Boston, and 5 hours to New York City by car. Vermont Tourism bureau has more information here: www.vermontvacation.com
