Spacious house near Washington, DC
We have made arrangements for a 2019 summer vacation, but we are open to a one-week exchange, particularly in North America, during the late summer or the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays. We can do a two-week exchange in January or Summer 2020.
A contemporary three-bedroom house in a quiet neighborhood near the University of Maryland, about 15 km from the center of Washington, DC. Easy access to the city and its many museums, monuments, restaurants, and theaters by Metro or car. We have two cars available for exchange (a 2018 Toyota Prius and a 2008 Saab 9-5), two bicycles that can be used on nearby trails that lead out into the city or out into countryside, and two kayaks for use on nearby rivers.

About Our Family
Steve is a professor and dean of the Graduate School at the University of Maryland. Marie is a certified nurse-midwife and nurse practitioner at Mary's Center for Maternal and Child Care in Silver Spring. She also has been a clinical instructor at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Steve was born and raised in rural Pennsylvania; Marie was born and raised in Manhattan. We have lived in the Washington area since 1988. Our two grown children (and our grandchildren) live nearby.
Lifestyle
We enjoy the outdoors--hiking, bicycling, and kayaking. Before our children came along, we bicycled across North America from Boston to Vancouver); from San Francisco to northern British Colombia and Alberta to Montana; and around the UK and Ireland. In more recent summers, we regularly spend two weeks hiking in the White Mountains. We love to travel--we have been to all the U.S. states except Alaska and to over 35 countries.
