A new home on the Southern coast of Ireland near the beach
Our second home is a two storey house less than four years old. It has three double bedrooms two of which are en-suite. It is a house in a small estate of houses. It is within 250m of a 5Km long sandy beach.
There is an enclosed small rear garden.
We are 40 minutes from Cork city and 50 minutes from Cork airport. The famous Ballymaloe House and cookery school are 3Km away.

Our Neighbourhood
Nearest Airport: Cork - 50 minutes
Garryvoe is a rural seaside area within 20 minutes drive of the towns of Midleton,Cobh and Youghal. There are small villages within a closer radius.
There is a hotel with a nice restaurant within walking distance and other restaurants within a few kilometers including Ballymaloe House and Castlemartyr Resort .
The long sandy beach is a popular beach with lifeguards on duty during the Summer months .

Cork City is Ireland's second City and has art galleries,museum,music and all other attractions that you would expect in a City.
There are many golf courses within a short drive including Fota which hosted the Irish Open.
There are also heritage sites,scenic walks and drives.
The famous Blarney Castle is a 40 minute drive away.
For children there is Fota Wildlife Park and in Fota there is also a heritage house and gardens open to the public.
Cobh has a maritime and emigration heritage centre featuring the last stop of the Titanic on it's last voyage.
It was the port of departure for many emigrants who left for America.

About Our Family
We have three adult children and two grandchildren but they are unlikely to travel with us.
Lifestyle
Castlemartyr golf course is within 10 minutes drive and there are other golf courses within a half hour drive.
The beach at Garryvoe is safe for swimming and has a lifeguard and is also ideal for walking except when the tide is at full tide.
Ardnahinch beach which is a few minutes drive away can be walked at almost all tides.
There is a coastal cliff walk in a local village of Ballycotton from which it is also possible to take a boat trip and visit a lighthouse. See www.ballycotton.ie.
Garryvoe is an ideal base for touring along the Southern Irish coast.
