House just 5 mins walk from historic York city centre

A lovely Victorian house in the ancient city of York, easy to walk to the centre, overlooking the pretty River Foss.

Built in 1865, our house has two floors. On the ground floor is the large sitting room, dining room and kitchen. There is also a downstairs toilet and a small yard outside with steps that lead up to a small terrace. It is lovely to sit on the terrace in the evening with a glass of wine! Upstairs there are two large double bedrooms and a bathroom. There is a double sofabed in the sitting room if needed.

York is very interesting to visit.  Founded by the Romans in 71AD, raided by the Vikings who settled in the city, for a short time York was the capital of England and has the largest Gothic cathedral in Northern Europe.  The city has wonderful  city walls which you can walk right round.  Other attractions include the National Railway Museum and the Jorvik Viking Centre.
