Our Neighbourhood

Denmark is a flat country, and our part is the most flat part of it. We live in a surburb of Esbjerg, www.visitesbjerg.dk/ a city of about 83.000 inhabitants on the westcoast of Denmark. Esbjerg is a new town, with modern facilities, a long pedestrian street and a big harbour. It used to be the biggest fishing-harbour of Denmark, but now the main purpose is export of windmills and being the base for offshore-activities. We have a big new music-house and swimm stadion. Try f.ex the fishing museum www.fimus.dk/, the swimm stadium www.svommestadiondanmark.dk/ and the music house www.mhe.dk/
West of Esbjerg you will find the lovely tourist-island Fanø www.fanoeturistbureau.dk/ with old villages and a nice beach. You can also visit one of the other 3 Waddensea islands, Langli, Mandø or Rømø.
The coast north of Esbjerg has the finest sand beaches of Denmark www.blaavandshuk.dk/
Along the coast there are dunes and woods, and it is nice to take long walks, also out of the season.
South of Esbjerg you will find marschland with dikes and ditches www.vadehavscentret.dk/ and the oldest town in Denmark, Ribe www.ribe.dk.
The famous Legoland is situated 60 km from Esbjerg
